Constitutional Law Day Celebrations, 2020

The Constitution is regarded as the Mother of all laws. It is the essence of which the Indian Legal System. The makers of the Indian Constitution had toiled for 2 years 11 months and 18 days to make the document and it was on the 26th November, 1949 it received the Presidential assent. This day is celebrated as a tribute to Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar, the Father of The Indian Constitution. It is a day to remember the struggle of our freedom fighters and cherish the noble ideals for the national struggle. The day was celebrated by the students and faculty members of Faculty of Law by organising an online session, wherein the Preamble to the Constitution of India was read out. The values embodied in the Constitution was elaborated upon and the essence and need of the Preamble was elaborated upon. The event was made in consonance with the UGC Guidelines and it commenced sharp at 11:00 am. A total of 100 participants were present which included faculty members and students. Also, the three centres for research in the Faculty of Law was explained to the students and they began their working from today itself.
